Paso Robles Wine Country has made quite a name for itself, even garnering the distinction of Wine Enthusiast Magazine’s 2013 Wine Region of the Year, but for those living on California’s Central Coast and throughout the Paso Robles Wine Region, we already know that Paso Robles is home to some of the best wines in California. To get a little taste of what’s going on within the local wine scene, check out The 6th Annual Garagiste Wine Festival this weekend in Paso Robles.

The name, garagiste, comes from the French word garagistes, a plural and derogatory term used to describe rebel winemakers who were making their own wines, often in their garages—a craft that went against the established rules of winemaking. This festival celebrates the winemaker as an artist and craftsman, one who can turn their passion for wine grapes into a vision which not only does justice to the fruit, but titillates and excites the palate.

This year’s Garagiste Wine Festival features over 60 wineries and 200 wines and will give everyone from the novice wine lover to the oenophile a chance to experience the passion and artistry of winemaking from the Paso Robles Wine Region.
